On Monday, the tribunal was told communication data and evidence obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test during that period.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most widely reported missing child cases and continues to be open.

'I Do Not Need Money'

A separate voicemail, played in court, documented Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm heavy and not pretty like Madeleine used to be, but I believe what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "What if there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Is that not important for you?"

"I do not need money, I maintain a life here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the recording stated.

The jury was told that by means of emails, mobile messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, transmitted youth pictures to her phone in a attempt to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and claimed to have "flashbacks" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who compiled the information, advised the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore contacted close associates of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, Mr McCann answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail saying "I will persist and I will prove my claim."

The court learned Mrs Spragg established a relationship online with Ms Wandelt preceding accompanying her on a appearance to the McCanns' residence in that area in that winter.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had communicated using communication app to Mrs McCann to say the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she should be taken seriously in the months before the visit to that location, Leicestershire, in December 2024.

The court was told communications between the two defendants, in November 2024, planning endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's genetic material from her garbage or from utensils at a eating establishment.

"We need to make a stand," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the appearance to their residence, the defendant dispatched a message which stated: "We are sitting adjacent to the McCanns' house with our headlights off like detectives. I wanted to achieve this with someone else I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial proceeds.
